craziest hedge award

It turns out that I'm not the only one who has noticed the crazy shrubs and hedges of Vancouver. These things are everywhere and I've received lots of suggestions on where to go to find some good ones. I'm not sure anything can top this picture that my friend Sara sent me though. Way to go, Richmond, BC! Homeowner, whoever you are, you win the Craziest Hedge in the Lower Mainland award. It should be noted that this award is only bestowed on this particular hedge until we find an even crazier one, as if that is even possible. Thanks for the photo, Sara!

  2. Wow! I know I haven't seen any crazier hedges than that. Where is it in Richmond? (and more curiously, what does it have to do with Zach Galifinakis?)

  3. Haha, originally there was a video on this post, but I took it off. You should watch "Between Two Ferns"...I'll fix the tags!

  4. That is just insane! I would get out the chainsaw, and make a secret little fort in there.

  6. Holly: It's been speculated that there is a secondary suite in there already. You never know what a hedge like that is hiding!

Danielle: I hope I find something more awesome than this, too. Or that someone does and sends it to me. But I've been living here for 2 1/2 years and so far this one takes the cake. Actually, it looks like it could take anything that got too close to it!

  7. That is crazy! Mad props to the person who did the hedging. Long long arms and steady hands. I've seen a few that might compete with this block hedge.

  12. Jacqui: We missed you last night! I would like to see a yard that is just a hedge someday.

    Grace: Amazing it is.

    Gale: You said it! Cuh-RAZY!

Hila: It's kind of whimsical, but also I think kind of threatening. Definitely mysterious.

Grace/Hello: No doubt. A lot of care and effort goes into something that perfect.

Glad this was a popular post! I'll have to try to out do this shrub with something even crazier!
