my dog on vacation
I know that many of you enjoyed seeing some pictures of my adopted dog, Lola, and some of her friends in an earlier post. Well, believe me! I have a lot more photos of Lola to share with you and thought I'd make a post of it today. Call it procrastination, call it a necessary break from CAD, call it whatever you'd like. Here are some of my favourite photos of Lola on vacation. The best part? These were all taken in the last year or so. We do a lot of travelling around this beautiful part of the world together and Lola loves a good hike or swim, though, as I've mentioned previously, she hates camping. At the bottom of this post I'll tell you a little more about the places we visited in these photos.
1. Lola in the rainforest around Powell River on the Sunshine Coast. We love going to visit our very good friend up there. Lola is maybe not a fan of two ferry rides, but she loves the drive and the inevitable hikes that we take her on.
2. Okay, I wish that I could remember the name of this place. It's about an hour past Hope here in British Columbia. You have to drive up this sketchy, winding, very high road to get to an amazing lookout point that was bustling with marmots. So beautiful.
3. Since we're apartment dwellers sometime we just have to visit a nice lush lawn. Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver.
4-5. My friend Lara's cabin. This was one of my favourite mini vacations last year. So much dock-sitting and swimming and sunshine. Oh, I can't wait for summer.
Inspired by Micaela's post last week asking her readers to share their vacation photos, I'm wondering if you have any photos of your pets on vacation that you'd like to share. Send them to me at sadiedesignsca at gmail dot com with the subject line "pet vacation" and I'll publish them next week. Make sure you tell me where you took the photo and send me a link to your blog if you've got one!

lola is such a cutie! and i know i've said it before, but i'm SO glad you didn't go to a pet store, but instead you adopted her. i think that's SO important. i also think you love a dof a little extra (if that's even possible) when you know that you rescued them!
ReplyDeleteDanielle: They totally don't sell dogs like Lola in a pet store, and that's why I love her so much (and possibly even more). Look at that out-of-proportion head/body combo! It just doesn't get any cuter than that!
ReplyDeleteLola is soooo cute!! I love these pics of her! She is one lucky pup to get to visit such beautiful places! What a great idea for a post!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of dog is she? She's built A LOT like my Fernando. The vet thinks he's a lab/corgi mix...with maybe some sort of terrier in there as well.
She's so cute! Lola looks like she's a great vacation dog. I wish my dogs were, but they are afraid to leave the house :p I think that feature is a great idea Sarah!
ReplyDeletei LOVE the idea! as a dog mom of 3, i'm going to enjoy seeing everyone's pet on holiday! :) it's a shame i can't take mine with me more often... but i'll see if i can find one though i have to say mine aren't as photogenic as lola :)
ReplyDeleteseriously, one of the first reasons i fell in love with my now husband is because he had a rescue (now our baby, bubbles).
Aww, what a cutie!! I'm not sure if I have any photos of Josie on vacay, I'll have to search around (Penny's so new we haven't had the chance :) ).
ReplyDeletePS: nifty new header!
It looks like Lola really likes to vacation! We don't have any pets but I'd try to take them if we had them!

My parents took their dog to the lake district with them and he looked so excited in every photo of him there :) so I love these!
ReplyDeletethank you for your comment, I always mean to write which film I use on posts but I forgot that time lol. I used the ilford xp2 CS41 black and white film, iso 400. and yeay for landscape architecture! I studied interior design but the job market is shocking here, so cad technician it is - I do love cad though, so I can't complain too much :)
She looks like she had an excellent time.
ReplyDeleteI love taking our pups on vacations. Even mini ones. They need a vacation as much as we do!!
Shes adorable!
Cute photos! I love the one with her above the water. I need a vacay!
