I rode my bike to work today like I do every day, but rode down Granville for a change. Thank goodness for my mid-commute boat ride that always makes my mornings brighter. That, and the amazing people in the third picture who were just ordinary Vancouverites cleaning up at 7 o'clock this morning. So many good people in this city.
this is very sad. i'm sorry :(
ReplyDeleteSARAH!!!!! ugh, i've been such an absentee blogger and i've missed you!
ReplyDeleteyeah, when i heard about the riots i couldn't believe it! i always think of canadians as so much friendlier and more civilized than americans, so i was in shock! so sorry those morons did that to your beautiful city :(
So gross. I don't understand people sometimes, most of the time, it makes me sad. Glad you're safe though.
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome that people just help out when they know help is needed. People would never do that here. You've got yourself one special city.
ReplyDeleteI've been reading about the riots on the bbc news website. Really sad stuff :-( It upsets me when things like this happen as it's the regular people who suffer. Like the folks who had their cars flipped and are now trying to sort out insurance etc. I hope the city gets tidied up soon.

Little Tree: I know. So lame.
ReplyDeleteDanielle: DANIELLE!!!!!! I've been absentee, too. Do you think Americans started the riots?
Beca: Totally don't get it either. It was a good night to stay at home, though!
Katie: I know, totally inspiring! I love that people took time out of their days to clean up, even if they shouldn't have to.
Lolo: It's already almost 100% cleaned up. :)
i saw this on world news (last week?) and thought of you. i remember thinking, i hope she's ok! what a sad state.
