stone
I've started to have quite a stone collection and these are some of my favourites. A multi-pointed quartz chunk that actually belongs to Jeff (which I dropped and partially smashed, yikes!), smokey quartz that is just about the nicest thing to hold in your hand and that was in my pocket all the time when I was finishing my graduate work, a desert rose (another favourite), an oyster shell from the beach in Powell River, and some red crystal that my mom sent me. What are your favourite stones? What do you collect?

These are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI collect shells, rocks, petrified wood...anything natural that catches my eye!
i love, love, love seeing people's rock collections, and of course yours is even better because i always love your bright pictures :) i'm also a fan of desert roses. i don't know what it is about them, but i just can't seem to look away!
ReplyDeleteas you can imagine, i've got a rock collection, too. mine is made up of some quartz and amethyst mined by my friend brittan, and a few pretty and unique stones i've picked up here and there but can't bare to use in a project!
those are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is a smokey quartz point I have on a chain that my Mum bought me a few years ago. I rarely take it off!

These are lovely. I especially like the desert rose. My mum has a large piece at her house!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite stone that I own is a large piece of rose quartz - about the size of a fist - that was given to my grandma. She bought some furniture from someone and the ladies insisted that the rose quartz stayed in it until my grandma got it home. Something to do with luck?!
Beautiful collection. I raised three boys, so my rock collection happened whether I wanted the rocks or not. Most came from our driveway, but we had a special box to put them in and kept them till the boys found girls that were a little more interesting.
ReplyDeleteI love the smokey quartz! I think it's very cool to see how people interpret gem meanings & significance. At our yoga studio's awareness fest this weekend we had a gem lady who learns everything about the rocks from her customers. It's very cool!
ReplyDeleteYou make me want to start collecting stones. They are so naturally gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGeodes are my favourite. They've been magic to me since I was a kid. I have other bits of this n that (stone-wise, nothing special) from shops, as well as shells from trips (about a million little ones from Cuba ... shhh).
