beca's rad summer: vacation island

The ultra-talented Beca has guest posted on Sadie before as part of the Day in the Life series that I ran this spring. She's back to share some more cute photos and a summer adventure to Vacation Island. Sounds like a pretty good place to me!

In my honest opinion, and I may be a bit biased here, there is nothing better than summer birthdays. The sunshine and fresh air just scream CELEBRATE! In fact, i think everyone should give it a shot, at least one year of their life, and celebrate their birthday in the summer. I just celebrated my 26th birthday and we had a beautiful picnic in the park, with copious amount of junk food, good company and a bundle of pretty colored balloons.

I am lucky enough to live in one of them most beautiful places in southern California. The beach is close, the bay is closer, and there is a rad spot to set up just about anywhere! We had my picnic on Vacation Island on the south cove pond. Mini french bread pizza, pumpkin pie bites, smokies, dates stuffed with goat cheese and french macarons were on the menu. My neighbors surprised me with pretty balloons and spending the day with my incredible boyfriend, one of our pups and close friends made it perfect.

When we got home, we lit candles on my cake and I made a wish! What did I wish for? That's a secret! I couldn't have asked for a better birthday!!
