some things that are making me happy these days

squirrel

Our wedding details are coming along. I have to admit, I am so unbelievably nervous about all of this. "This" being the fact that our friends and family are coming from all over the country to hang out and celebrate with us on a pretty big day in our lives. It's very exciting and very nerve-wracking for me. I want everyone to have a great time and keep reminding myself that putting all of our guests in one room would make for a good time no matter what the food tastes like or the music sounds like. Plus, I've been assured by many married friends that I'll hardly remember the ceremony due to adrenalin, that no one will notice the things that we don't get to, and that when all is said and done, we can just bask in the fact that we are MARRIED.

But still, we have some fun things going on for the big day, including some things that our talented friends have helped us out with. Whether it's making a giant pile of paper flowers or doing some special drawings (the one above is a sneak peak of a drawing my friend Jill Ho-You did for us) or even tasting champagne (while making paper flowers)...I am so grateful for all of the time and effort that people have put in for us. We have some great friends and I'm thankful for every single one of them. I also can't wait to share with you some of the things that my mom has been helping out with. She's really gone above and beyond for us on this one.

Okay, okay...enough wedding talk for one day! Isn't Jill's squirrel cute?

  2. It will feel so awesome when you've pulled it all off! Have as much fun as you can, while doing all this work and remember that it doesn't have to be perfect! I kind of regret how much stressing I did over my wedding details, but I'm sure everybody does. It's just such a special thing!

  10. sometimes we all feel like we're a little acorn nut in a world full of squirrels - this post really makes that point for you lades. i do love the clever drooring your friend did, it's darling as all get out! but you and the wedding nerves, well that's perfectly understandable. the advice you've been given is totally true. it is a rather surreal day in our lives, just remember to breath, i know everyone will have the best time and will be way more focused on gorgeous you and the handsome one than any cake dents or setting place mix ups. ♥
