thank you

Thank you for keeping me busy these days! I am so overwhelmed by all of the encouragement you guys offer and your interest in my work. It really means a lot, thank you! I'm learning new things these days and am excited to show you some sterling silver and stone pieces in progress. Moss agate and chalcedony all the way, people! Prep for Got Craft? on May 6th continues. Check out this fun little feature from Delish Mag about C+Q and other great Got Craft? vendors if you have a chance.

a few new things: pyrite and pink

This morning I was working on a fun wholesale order for Icon Tattoo in Portland and also made a few new things that I'll be adding to the Sadie shop after our wedding. This particular wholesale order was extra fun because I sent a lot of custom pieces their way, including pyrite and sterling silver necklaces and some amethyst core samples.

Today I've also been thinking about creativity and how I work best. The truth is, these new pieces came out of having different materials around for the custom order and having time. Having caught up on all my orders, I had some time to just play around with things and see what could work. I ended up gravitating to the combo of rough pyrite with polished, light pink rose quartz and chalcedony. And of course, I love a little turquoise, too. I have a really good feeling about this little break that I'm taking. I think that in between working on wedding details I'll find the time and inspiration to experiment with some of the materials that I've had for a while, and hopefully some great pieces will result. I'm also hoping that I'll have my hands on a new camera in the next few weeks, so these new pieces will be the subjects of improved photography, too! I. Can't. Wait.

Check back in tomorrow for a great Rad Summer post and take a minute to visit There & Here where I'm guest posting on Tuesday!

mixed minerals: black tourmaline and some other great things

amethyst and black tourmaline
quartz and black tourmaline (silver and gold dipped)
citrine and black tourmaline
We're back and getting ready to face the real world music tomorrow morning. Poor Jeff has to get up at 5:15 AM tomorrow and put in a twelve hour day! I can hardly complain in comparison. Seattle was so fun. We took it easy today: visited some of our favourite neighbourhoods and checked out Silence-Heart-Nest at the suggestion of talented Seattle resident, Moorea Seal. (Thanks so much for the tip, Moorea!) I also discovered a stone/jewelry-making paradise, for real, cannot emphasize enough how awesome (and therefore dangerous to my mini vacation budget) this place is. It's not that they have everything, it's that they have lots of stuff that I have never been able to find in Vancouver, and at reasonable prices, too. So, be on the lookout for even more new stuff in the Sadie shop soon, especially more mixed mineral necklaces in a similar vein to the ones above that I just listed tonight. Happy almost weekend, everyone! Do you have any plans for Saturday and Sunday yet?

coming soon: amethyst core samples

Four new amethyst core samples will be in the Sadie shop this week. Two gold, two silver, all one of a kind. I'll be showing off lots of new jewelry here in the coming weeks, so keep checking back for sneak peeks of what's going to be in store in May. I made two new Miriam necklaces today, too, and am excited to be able to offer the pastel pink version in the shop this spring. Let me just say, it is so nice to be sitting in the sun, drinking coffee and making jewelry on a weekend. I can't wait to tackle all of the projects that I've been dreaming of starting soon. What are you working on these days?
